Language Arts: Our theme this week is Growing Up!
* We will be reading several stories about animals growing up.
* We will learn that a statement is a sentence that tells something.
* In our reading we will work on fluency and comprehension.
Spelling: pin, win, hit, sit, miss, kiss, sad, nap, be, & run.
* Each week we also learn several new vocabulary words. These are not words that they are expected to know how to spell, but we use them daily throughout the week to enforce their meaning.
Vocabulary words: change, learn, adult, imitate, practice.
* We are starting guided reading and centers for real this week! If you have signed up to volunteer I am excited to have you start being a part of our classroom. You will be greatly appreciated! (Monday-Thursday 9:45-11:00)
Math: We are continuing to learn about addition. We will learn how to count on to add, as well as learn how to record and interpret data.
Rotations:
Mrs. Bluemel: Conflict Resolution
Mrs. Anderson: Math Camp
Mrs. Barton: Maps
Ms. Miller: School and Neighborhood Cultures
Ms. Potter: Personal Hygiene
* Take Home Books should start coming home next Monday. They have been able to purchase many news books and are working on getting them all organized and inventoried.
* If you would like an extra homework challenge for your child have them practice writing their ABC's (Upper & Lower Case) and their #'s as high as they can go. If they have any reversals have them practice more of that letter or number.
