Week of November 1st-5th

Red Ribbon Week: We are doing some fun things this week to celebrate saying NO to drugs! On Monday a note will come home letting you know what will be going on each day.
Tuesday: Wear red! Magician Assembly @ 2:30pm. Come to Red Robin between 4-8pm and have a teacher serve you dinner!
Wednesday:Dress in the colors of your favorite superhero. (Return decorated paper doll)
Thursday: Wear purple!
Friday: Wear your school shirt or school colors (orange & blue)

Language Arts: This weeks theme is Neighborhood Fun!

Spelling: Words that contain sh & th (fish, shop, ship, with, thin, thank)

Math: This week in math we are focusing on skip counting by twos, exploring place-value patterns, using number patterns to help add, and working with doubles. We will have a math test on Thursday!

Week of October 25th-29th

Language Arts: This weeks theme is titled At Home.

Spelling: Short U words (run, fun, nut, cut, bug, rug)

Math: This week in math we are learning about growing patterns, odd and even numbers, and how to skip count by twos.

Rotations: This week for rotations a few of the teachers will be reading a story that relates to what they are going to dress up as for Halloween. After each story the students will then do an activity that is aligned with the story.

Halloween Party: Friday the 29th we will be celebrating Halloween. Please send your child to school in their regular clothes with their costumes in their backpacks. Lunch is at 11:00 am and students will change into their costumes after they eat. Our classroom party will be from 11:20-12:00. The Halloween Parade will be on the outside track from 12:10-12:40.

Week of October 19th-22nd

Language Arts: This weeks theme focuses on neighborhoods and maps.

Spelling: S Blends and R Blends (spill, spin, grab, grass, drip, drop)

Math: We are working on comparing and ordering numbers. We are also learning about how to describe and extend patterns.

Week of October 11th-14th

Language Arts: This weeks theme is all about helping out.

Math: A chapter 3 review test will be sent home to do as homework Monday the 11th. We will have our chapter 3 test on Tuesday. Please work with your child on skills such as telling time to the hour, and counting, recognizing and exchanging pennies and nickels for additional review at home.

Spelling: Words that end in eg, en, and et. The spelling test will be given on Thursday the 14th, since there is no school on Friday.

Language Arts: This weeks theme is all about animal families.

Math: In math we are learning about basic bar graphs, working with simple story problems that involve money, and measuring with non-standard units.

Spelling: Short O words (hop, top, log, hog, hot, lot, etc.)
